This memorial stands in honor of the fire-fighters of Illinois who have given their lives in the line of duty and to those who heroically serve with courage and pride.

In 1993, an original bronze work of art was erected to honor the firefighters of Illinois who have given their lives in the line of duty and to salute those who heroically serve with courage, pride and honor. The memorial depicting four life-size figures of firefighters in action is located at the Illinois State Capitol Complex.
